World Run I / ReportsGoto: 2004-04-16 2004-04-18 Russia 2004-04-17:Distance today: 56.0 km (Accumulated: 5096.0 km) Country: Russia Route Report: Sim - Uruzan. 56km., 5:04h. (Alexander +29min., Kazuka 1:17min.). During a multi-month/year run like this it is inevitable or even natural that there are days with friendly "test of strenght". Today was one of them. And Ural definately was a good locationfor it. Alexander completed the first 30km. in ca. 5:40 min/km pace - which is not exactly easy in a terrain with many small mountains and very few plains to regain strenght. The main climb was from 208m to 720m and most of the time eighter UP or down. I tried to hang on as best as possible. Alexander is best at uphill running, while I definately prefer to set the pace down hill, so it was a longdrawn give-take distance game. Our finish point was at the bottom of a 6km. descent section(near a beautifull lake!) and that gave the result. Also I jumped the water stations the last 26km. to keep in touch on uphill - not the smartest things in the long terms. |
