Almost overcast and same at finish.
Injury continued..
First 20km/2 hours went well with almost no indication in the ankle and
heel (there was the usual pain in the hands; but that?s another matter).
But like yesterday the pain set in full strength, giving the pain centre a
good "grill", the last 3 hours.
Yet; in order not to dwell in that drab subject here is a little local
history from my finish location Broadview:
In the local museum of the approximate 800 person city stands one of its
relics - a stuffed goat, who earned the name/rank: "sergeant Bill" during
the 1. World War where it accompanied the local contribution to the
Canadian troops; and saw action at the second battle of Ypres in France.
- Now there's local history for ya'!
Well; besides the humour its worth remembering the tremendous effort and
sacrifice done by Canadians amongst many other to clear up when things
went "wrong" for us back in Europe.
- And makes the hardship I am facing at present seem minimal when compared
:-)
