World Run I / Reports

Goto: 12005-01-16 12005-01-18 1Australia

2005-01-17:
Distance today: 30.0 km (Accumulated: 16888.0 km)
Country: Australia

2005.01.17. - on Eyre A1: "B 90km" >.
(Crew: P. Gray all stage)

30km, 2:41:04h. Excl. food, water, road-finding, toilet etc. stops.
Total 16.847km.

Start: 19:07pm. /16:37 WAT.
Finish: 21:58pm./ 19:28 WAT.
Time GMT + 10:30 hours (NB: South Australian Time!)

+29c, a few clouds and medium wind at start.
20c, sunset and light wind at finish.

- Back on track...

After getting the support-car repaired the run is moving towards Perth and
the end of the Nullabor :-)

- The "WAT", above at the secondary start and finish times, indicates the
West Australian Time which applies after the Border Village Checkpoint a
couple of days ago.

However I will still be using South Australian Time to choose the start
time of the two daily sessions of the run. WAT does not have "summertime /
daylight saving time" and stretches over =2000km so at this point SAT
gives a better compliance with sunrise and sunset time.

Once in Norseman at the western end of the Nullabor I will begin using WAT
- and not stay with the same time the rest of run ;-) ... as opposed to
Phileas Fogg in Round the Earth in 80days by Jules Verne (who stayed
strictly with the UK GMT).

PS: The reports from the Nullabor desert are a bit delayed and kept
shorter than usual due to lack of phone and internet connections
