World Run I / ReportsGoto: 2004-12-10 2004-12-12 Australia 2004-12-11: 11Distance today: 50.0 km (Accumulated: 15111.0 km) Country: Australia 2004.12.11. 50km, 5:18:43h. Excl. food, water, road-finding, toilet etc. stops. Total 15.070km. (Crew: Dirk Thys all stage). Start: 10:13am. Finish: 17:27pm. Time GMT + 11 hours +19c, almost clear sky and light wind at start. 23c, half overcast and same wind at finish. Flooding! On today?s stage where I hugely enjoyed the competent crewing of Dirk Thys - a Belgian ultra runner from Adelaide (!), I had some serious rain: Near Murray Bridge the police for a while stopped the traffic until the water and mud was under control! It fitted well in with my lunch stop, though :-) A highlight was that I have now received my next shipment of Asics gel Kayano running shoes from my equipment sponsor, the Danish branch of Asics ! THANKS :-)) 11. December running tip: - Always remember to shift your running shoes before they are fully worn out; because that will be where you are most likely to get injuries from minimized shock absorption in the shoe. A way to prolong the "life" of your running shoe is to shift between 2 pairs! That way each pair will have a chance to regain their full shock absorption quality before the next session. |
