2004-10-12. Second rest day in Vladivostock.
- Again a busy day with a Danish interview and planning details of the
Australian part of the world run.
The flight for Japan departs tomorrow so it?s also our last day in Russia.
We take care to enjoy and remember the friendship and hospitality which we
have received through 7 months of running through the vast Russian
territory.
- Imagine; we spent only about 10% of the days of the Russian stages in
our tents. Against an expected 50% or more. We were accommodated 90% of
the days by local sports comities; in hotels, schools, orphan children?s
houses, hospitals, theatres, city administration buildings, private homes
of world class athletes. Our total accommodations expenses for
accommodation in Russia - all included - were 100 roubles pr. person. @
That?s 3 dollars (not pr. day; but for the total of 7 months!!!!).
- Now that?s a dimension of Russia that I don?t often see in main stream
TV...
