World Run I / Reports

Goto: 12004-06-11 12004-06-13 1Russia

2004-06-12: Pictures34
Distance today: 35.0 km (Accumulated: 6960.0 km)
Country: Russia

Route Report: Novosibirsk [Lenin square; Lenin statue; Novosib. main
square] - Sokol [Roadsign 33 on M53, near factory sign "Sokol"].

35km, 3:42:22 h (J.).

Start 6:38 (K.), 8:50am (J. and A.). Finish 12:44 (J.), 14:18 (A.), 15:00
(K.).

At start +20c, clear sky, light wind. 26c, medium wind and overcast at
finish.

On todays stage we had the first real hills in about 1500km! A wellcome
change :-)

Alexander continues his progress, but Kazuka has still a hard battle going
with the shinsplint problem.

- she is such a positive input in the team, and her struggle with the
injury and pride (no runner likes to walk to the finish line..) affects us
all !!

Fortunately we now have quality advice via sms from both a japanese
marathon specialist (advisor of nat.team) & an experiensed american
ultrarunner specialist.

Another subject: tonight is the second match in the European football
championships: Russia - Spain. A major thing for most russians we meet
today :-)

And also the russian part of our team has plans to stay up during the
night to watch - our Siberian time now beeing GMT.+6hours !

- I choose a bit inpolite to go watch my dreams; a runner needs sleep...
:-)
