Route Report: Omsk centrum(at the statue "the Marathon Runner" on "Uliza
Lenina" street) - Kormilovka(citysign, 500m after roadsign 46).
47km., 4:37h(all) but 50 min. waterstops due to hot humid weather.
Start 9:14am(all), finish 14:38pm(all).
+27C., clear sky and light wind at start,ยด+34C. at finish.
Police/administration escort and runner company(Evgenii) all stage.
Kormilowka - our finish town and birthplace of Evgenii - began 110 years
ago as water and food stop for post-service horses on their way from Omsk
into the long distances of middle Siberia.
We now leave Omsk behind us and, as the horses, run towards Lake Baikal;
2500km. or 1 1/2 month down the road.
To us Omsk was a pleasant surprise and for me (J.) personally, it is the
russian "big city" that I like most.
Definately worth a visit - ofcourse our opinion may be based on the
excellent host who made us feel at home in Siberia;

About todays stage itself its sufficient to say it was HOT. At the last
waterstop we choose to jump into a small lake to escape the +34C. for 5
cold minutes.
