World Run I / Reports
Distance today: 42.0 km (Accumulated: 17638.0 km)
42km, 4:12:30h. Excl. food, water, road-finding, toilet etc. stops.
Time GMT + 10:30 hours (NB: South Australian Time!)
+19c, almost clear sky and medium wind at start.
34c, clear sky and same at finish.
A nice but slow run into the friendly town Merredin.
There is a bit general tiredness in the body right now; making the early
morning starts less than easy. Yet the countdown to Perth and the end of
the Australian part of the world run has begun :-)
I expect to reach Perth Harbour / City Beach around the 11. February; a
little more than a week from now.
The flight for Los Angeles, USA, is already booked to the 15. February.
- Financed by my win at the international 6-day race in Colac two months
ago. A well worth effort :-)
It is with some concern, though, that I look forward to the American part
of the run: here in Australia I have had the pleasure of an impressive
and competent coordination by mr. Phil Essam (vice pres. of the Australian
Ultra runners Organisation) of the run, media, meetings with runners,
races, accommodation etc. !
In the US I don?t have any contact network for the run; certainly another
challenge waiting ;-)
