- West Australia!

At the beginning of this long stage we crossed the border coming from
South Australia and into West Australia. The reason for the rougher
vigorous at the border is that West Australia due to its isolation by
large desert regions is free from most of the plant and animal deceases
which the Eastern parts of Australia (and Europe for that matter)
experience.

To avoid that problems like cow, chicken, sheep virus being spread into
the territory all fresh food and vegetables must be left before crossing
the border station.

- Living of 'canned meals' most of the time, these restrictions didn?t
pose a problem to me... ;-)

By the way: as you can see the rougher long stage of 77km was broken in
two by a long midnight stop/sleep (I put up the tent at roadside; Peter
slept in his car). A beautiful starlit sky watching over; clearly visible
through my fly net-cover 'desert tent' :-)
