World Run I / Reports
Distance today: 0.0 km (Accumulated: 13189.0 km)
2004-10-28 <6. wait-day for airplane to Sydney, Australia>.
This is my last full day in Japan and my host, Kazuka, had done all to
make it a nice experience!
Early morning we went by 4-wrd jeep/stc.-car together with mr. Tohei up in
the higher parts of the mountains to do some stunning scenery running!!
- There will be some pictures from that mountain run on the web later :-)
After this little bit of demanding running a traditional Japanese
restaurant awaited us. It was situated on a mountain top; with a view to
go with the food!
And the food was itself really something to see: It came in all colours
and forms, presented in small wood-boxes, in specially separated boards,
bowls, plates, etc., etc. A small work of art :-)
- And home baked bread as tasty as any Scandinavian variant to go with it.
Yes; there is certainly a change in the experience in this last part of
the "Japan experience?!
The dinner itself took more than two hours; and not only due to my
chop-stick skills (they have improved, actually ;-), but to the fact that
each course was a small test in carefully unpacking the food; whether it
be from its cases or boxes, or from its deco rational parts. Not
disturbing, but interesting :-)
At sunset we drove by the winding roads down through the mountain valleys
in order for me to get to the next point: the packing for 4500km in
