2004-09-28:

Route Report: < rds.105 on M60> - .

50km, 5:23:13 h (J.). Excl. food, water, toilet etc. stops.

Start 09:56am (all).
Finish 17:24pm (J.).17:31pm (K.).
(Alexander in Khabarovsk to prepare finish ceremony in Vladivostock and
visa details for Japan & Austalia).

Time GMT + 10 hours.

+4c, clear and med. wind at start. 17c and same at finish.

Both Kazuka and I has during the night had some fever and head pains and
thus the stage are run very carefully. After the 20km water and food stop
we quickly dedided to cut the stage from the planned 64km to a round 50km
instead. The fewer are still strong for both of us and so close to our
goal in Russia - Vlad.Vostock - it would be foolish to risk all for the
sake of 14km. We will in any case have some lighter days during the week
and can thus add a few every day and this way make up the lost 'terrain'.

- What Alexander will say about it is another thing, thoug. He has the
main responsibility of detail planning of the stages and wathches keenly
that no stage are 'cut in half', minimized or otherways negotiated down.
Quite sensibly in the overall picture as its extremely tempting to begin
taking off 10km wich "can be added tomorrow" which ofcourse will just be
to build up trouble. We owe much of our relative succes of getting out of
Russia in time before winter to his carefull planning and duely carefully
watching over the execution of the plan !

PS: This report and next weeks reports are posted with delay - as the
mobile unit for reports to the website is broken. We expect to reach
Vladivostock the 10.October !
