55km., 6:12h. (Kazuka and Aleksander +8min.).
Police escort.
Finally we reach Ural - the mountain range that is considered the dividing
line between Europe and Asia / Siberia (thogh I still think that the
highbridge before Vyborg, Russia, with much right could be considered the
end of what most people connect with Europe - and the the beginning of
Russian culture which is quite different in many ways).
We had the first 2 small mountainclimbs and though they were only a few
hundred meters high, it bites well into the legs after 5 hours of
running...
Also we suddenly had gprs-gps connection!!
You should be able to see the result in the "pictures" section of this
report.
They show moments of our run in Ufa, the police escort, a man who
sponsored us with some of his Baskir honey production; and one of our many
media meetings - here a small village session.
I think the picture serie tell the story, we had good fun;-)
But also you get a view of our accomodation, our host family and an inside
view of the sauna!
We REALLY ENJOYED a day where we could think of other things than: "When
is this stage over?".
I hope there is a lot more in store:-)
