26 000km :-))) !

Today I and my crew for the day: Mike Hartsley (pb. 100km 6:37h.!!),
rounded the 26 000km mark.

4 Continents is done, the mileage is completed (since 2 hours ago :-) and
now only the last requirement remains: to reach the point I started the
run from nearly 2years ago.

Hopefully that will happen on this Sunday slightly after noon :-)

Actually I first realised the 26 000km was "home" after todays stage was
run and long over with; during my counting of the km and total km.

- Sitting at my hotel room in Derby/Mickleover I was, hmm.., in Viking
mood over an overprized fancy hotel (advertised at 45£, actual charge:
110£) plus the fact that I managed to get myself lost 3 times today !

If the whole run had been like that I wouldnt have made it out of
Europe... ;-)

- But certainly it makes its own sense now! I have an excellent place for
celebration: a good room with sauna and spa at disposal. What better than
to bring my coke & chocolate and eat & drink it before it melts.. :-))

What a contrast to many many hard days in remote places running along
dusty, but scenic, roads.

- Yes; as those that know me understand, I prefer a simple living without
too much luxury (it distracts the mind! :-) but on rare occasions it is
truly nice !

Now Ill celebrate, rest and look forward to meeting tomorrows companions.
I hope they like a bit of celebrative chocolate in the wee morning :-)
