Desert Running..

Now the desert is beginning to open up in front of me in all its bare
beauty.

Running into the evening sun the massive horizon is washed in colours;
changing from minute to minute through delicate orange, peach, sand
yellow, purple and a velvet blue which comes with the first night breeze -
easing the body and mind after a hot day :-)

Sounds start to pick up; rattling from jumping kangaroos, calling from
sheep?s near the waterholes and rumbling from wombats that start to wake
up.

Traffic gets busy for a while; aboriginals pass me by, waving from open
cars. The occasional camper rushes by in their mobile home.

Then, within no more than an hour, the deep dark swallows all the scenery.

Left is the night-runner on his way through the desert and the "road
train" trucks as optical orchestras with their multiple lights.

Above the stars sparkles their million years far-away symphony on a
billion year background of the universe. Part of an even older riddle...
