Time GMT + 9 hours. +5c, clear sky & no wind at start. 3c, twilight & white evening fog at finish (sunset) (max. temp 23c at =15pm). - The longest stage so far; 85km, on pretty bad gravel & stone roads. We are pleased to have completed that one :-) Further Alexander made a strong comeback' as he ran better and better during the stage! For my part I truly enjoyed the entire km's today - it seems the body is finally on its way towards its usual pace of running after 1 month of extreme tiredness and deep exhaustion. For the first time since long, I could put in a pace around 5:30 min/km and make a few 'speed bursts' when the terrain invited to it :-) Before our start we met Peiters - an Austrian road engineer who provided us with new yet unreleased maps of the emerging road. Had an interesting talk about being foreigner in Russia. - At our finish we were friendly accommodated in a bakery in a nearby village! ... Yes, we get to experience many sides of life in Russia :-) |
