World Run I / Reports

Goto: 12004-04-07 12004-04-09 1Russia

2004-04-08:
Distance today: 54.0 km (Accumulated: 4551.0 km)
Country: Russia

Route Report: Mama Disch - Yelabuga.

54km., 5:09h. (Kazuka + 14min., Alexander + 34min.).

We had plenty of Roadservice/police support today which allowed us to run
in 1 - 3 groups.
First Kazuka and I in front; later she ran together with Alexander while I
took a few km's at 4:58 - 5:12min./km. (we have a 5min. rest and water
stop every 70min., so the pace isn't so impressive with that in mind).

The last km's we had much compagny and at finish a huge assembly waited
us.

Katzuka said: "Nando-Monando! I think it means World Run demands many
autographs!

Later we attended a press conference in a discoteque, complete with
english translators etc. and was presented some insightfull questions!

Our accomodation are in huge hotel rooms, even with private big kitchen
and other luxury.
The World Run is truely a run of contrasts.
Who provide this? - the Sports Committee of Yelaburg and a helping
document from the Tartastan Sport Federation.

But also I think Edouard of The Russian Ultrarunner Association is to
thank.
He often calls to check if things are allright and is really the person
who can help runners over here!
