World Run - Training Camp 2002

Copenhagen May 2002.


Program:

02.05.16 - Thursday; arrival John ! Expected time: 15:50. Light training John ?, interval training (hard) Jesper. Dinner.

02.05.17 - Friday; For John there is the possibility to experience a theathre play where one of my sisters friens takes part. Jesper: work (15:00 to 20:00).
Training: John light tr. ?, Jesper: normal.

02.05.18 - Saturday; Perhaps dinner/grill in the afternoon. Sightseeing for John - perhaps Copenhagen Harbour-cruice ! Jesper: work (09:30 to 14:00).
Training: John light tr. ?, Jesper: normal.

02.05.19 - Sunday; arrival Alexander ! Expected time: 09:45 am. Welcome, dinner & runners-meeting in the evening. Agenda: the training program for the Camp (which you see here) and general 'how are we dooing' in our home training & planning. Also: nutrition & recovery 'tricks'.
Training: John: medium ?, Alex': light ?, Jesper: a high-speed 40-50km test-run.

-------- Week I

02.05.20 - Monday; Visit to the 'Frelserkirke' a famous church in Copenhagen with a splendid view over the entire city - beware: a LOT of stairs to climb. Afterwards perhaps "Christianshavn" and the experimental mini-society of "Christiania".
Training: The 3 weeks of 1000km begins. All: slow and easy 2 x 25 km (?).

02.05.21 - Tuesday; a quiet day. Sightseeing if Alex' and John whish - perhaps on their own in the local surroundings. Jesper: Work (15:00 to 20:00).
Training: slow speed again (~ 6min pr. km ?), 10 + 30 + 10 km (?).

02.05.22 - Wednesday; Visit to the castle of Elsinore (Shakespeare's "Hamlet").
Training: 50km in approx. 5 hours. We run to Elsinore and are picked up by car or take the train back to Copenhagen. Departure from Cph. about 15 p.m.

02.05.23 - Thursday; Sightseeing optional.
Training: 10 + 25 + 15km (?).

02.05.24 - Friday; If we feel up to it we can visit "Dyrehaven" ancient royal hunting field and "Bakken" - an old amusement park with the worlds oldest wooden rollercoaster - about 80 years old. Jesper: work (15 to 19:00).
Training: We can run up to "Bakken" - my work is on the way so you can pick me up at 19 o'clock. After the evening run and visit to 'Bakken' we go back by car. This means a run of about 30km which leaves us with a 20km to be run in the morning.

02.05.25 - Saturday; relaxation.
Meeting with our helpers for the Copenhagen Marathon, Malene, Stine and my littlesister. Jesper: work (09:30 to 14:00).
Training: 20 + 20km.

02.05.26 - Sunday; Copenhagen Marathon. Starting time 9:30 am. Departure from home at 8:30 ! With friendly help from the organiser we have been invited as guest runners and will have a special route of 50km's.
After the race meeting w. some possible sponsors. In the evening: a short jog of 5-10km and a post-marathon party toghther with some Dutch Ultrarunners which has also been running the marathon.

-------- Week II

02.05.27 - Monday; World Run route planning + 'Events': The races of 2002 & enterence fee to Spree Lauf and T.E.F.
Training: Slow restitution, 10 + 20 + 10 + 10km (?)

02.05.28 - Tuesday; Sightseeing optional + Routeplanning. Jesper at work (15:00 - 20:00)
Training: The session to be decided in detail (1,2, or 3 sets)

02.05.29 - Wednesday; Meeting w. our sponsor-coordinator. Jesper: Work (15:00 to 20:00).
Training: The session to be decided in detail (1,2, or 3 sets)

02.05.30 - Thursday; Routeplanning.
Training: The session to be decided in detail (1,2, or 3 sets)

02.05.31 - Friday; World Run planning - equiptment & economics. Jesper: Work (15:00 to 20:00). Visit from our nutrition/fluid sponsor at the Training Camp at 21:00, mr. Thomas Mortensen from 'Purepower' - he'll participate in our training session this evening !
Training: The session to be decided in detail (1,2, or 3 sets).

02.06.01 - Saturday; Jesper: work (09:30 to 14:00).
Training: Slow speed - tomorrow there is a race to be run !

02.06.02 - Sunday; Participation in the "Farum Só Race" 14km terrain. Start 10:30 am. Barbeque at my parents house in the evening.
Training: The session to be decided in detail (1,2, or 3 sets) besides the 14km race.

-------- Week III

02.06.03 - Monday; Outside testing; overnight in tent. Transport of equiptment by babyjogger.
Training: The session to be decided in detail (1,2, or 3 sets).

02.06.04 - Tuesday; Outside testing. Jesper at work (15:00 - 20:00).
Training: The session to be decided in detail (1,2, or 3 sets).

02.06.05 - Wednesday; Outside testing.
Training: The session to be decided in detail (1,2, or 3 sets)

02.06.06 - Thursday; Outside testing.
Training: The session to be decided in detail (1,2, or 3 sets)

02.06.07 - Friday; Outside testing. Jesper at work (15:00 to 20:00).
Training: The session to be decided in detail - I suggest a final 50km session.

02.06.08 - Saturday; We are invited by a Copenhagen running club to attend a little 'Viking running event': At 10:30 am. on the national athletics stadium we gather w. some other runners for a 10.000 m run. For each lap/400m one must comsume a little 'speciality' in a restricted zone before continuing.
- Quite a good test for our digestion systems ;-)
In the evening a "Farewell Party" in the outside w. grill for all helpers and runners involved w. the Training Camp 2002 !

02.06.09 - Sunday; Departure Alexander: 9:45 am. John stays for the IAU 100km championships in Belgium - Alexander runs the Moscow Maraton.
